Bear Mission

As you all know, i will be attending my sister's wedding which is February next year and i will be her bridesmaid (means i'm the 2nd prettiest after her on that day). I've got plans laid out for the big day, and i have a mission to complete within the duration of... lets put it... 3 months, which is to loose 5kgs of my current weight.

It's not easy so motivation and support is vital to me. Tips says that making my diet public will help so this post is a promise to myself that i will try hard to loose as much weight as possible in 3 months, although it's ideal to loose 5kgs but i'm still trying my best.

In order to achieve my ultimate goal, i have a list of things to do:

1.) Decrease the amount of food intake eg 3/4 of rice

2.) Stop eating when i'm 70% full

3.) 50 sit ups a day

4.) 60 minutes of physical exercise for 5 days a week (as recommended but discount can be given)

5.) NO NO to snacks

6.) No eating besides 3 meals... NO SUPPER!! No second helpings

7.) Control my power of appetite

Following the directions above, i should be able to succeed in 3 months. Warning to my friends: DO NOT TEMPT ME WITH FOOD esp high calories food, you know who you are, don't worry i won't reveal you... JOANNA!! If i fail to succeed, then you will be the cause of it, i don't care.. HMMP!!

Izzy and Colby, Murphy can't wait to see you in less than 4 months, be ready with the tuxedos as bears are gonna rock you party!!

Negativity

I've been telling myself to be patient these days as things are getting on my head and i'm about to explode to anyone anytime.
I'm so mad to the extend i feel tired and exhausted. I have no more energy to express how angry i am. Suddenly feel like i should go for anger management lessons.
The amazing thing is that i know i have no solution to the things i'm getting mad over. But i still can't help but be mad.
This is so unhealthy, which is what disadvantage you get when you live in an unhealthy environment with negative attitudes surrounding you. Everywhere you go (class, canteen, town, grocery shopping etc) you are surrounded by people like that.

I WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!
I'm waiting for my holiday in February next year. Four more months.

Kadevalle kadevalle

Oh my kadevalle..

It's 1.45am and i am not in bed yet. Thats nothing surprising. What's surprising is i have anatomy class test tomorrow and out of 4 topics i only read 1. We will be asked about blood pressure in Physiology practicals tomorrow morning and i'm not ready too. And i'm also gonna screw my mixed doubles badminton match tomorrow.

I was studying anatomy in my room and at 12.01am i receive a call from Calvin asking me to replace someone else for mixed doubles badminton tomorrow. How am i gonna prepare for it i don't know. Perhaps use my karat-ed skill which i have not been practising since July before the internals. I will pray for good luck for our team. On the bright side, i'm playing without pressure because i'm not prepared to win. So there's always a good and bad side on everything.

Earlier before 12.01am, i was also not in my room because i went outside to 'pat' (gossip) about the on going chess competition. It is also by luck that blue shark manage to finish second after the red demon. Red demons had really strong contenders so we all know by no chance we can win but finish second is better than none. The total score chart for the 4 teams still ends with blue shark in last position.

Oh the opening ceremony was fun as all teams perform their best in the cheer. The champion for cheer was red demon because they portray themselves as cute and cheerful which was slightly different from other teams who did the usual cheer leading type of cheer.. you know what i mean..

But i was a little upset after hearing some people bad mouth about our team because they have some misunderstandings against us. Anyway we can't choose our teammates and all we can do is make the best out of what we have. It's just a game after all, we should all learn to be sporting and have more sportmanship.

Gooo... Blue Sharks

It's been a tiring week as the opening ceremony of PIDC Cup is this Saturday so we're all busy practising our cheer. I'm in the blue team named Blue Shark, i thought it sounded lame, sorry to say but it is true. I actually went online to search for a few other names and submitted them to my team leader and all i got was, 'Oh what was the name u suggested, i forgot...' Fine.. i couldn't be bothered.

Since the moment we were sorted into our teams, everyone sort of knew which team is meant to win and lose. Unfortunately, my team is obviously the weakest contender among the 4 teams. But so what.. does it mean that we can just quit and pull out of the game.. no right.. but people especially the guys in our team are so pessimistic and have surrendered half the game before it even started. If we don't look up at ourselves then how can other teams respect us. Can see that during cheer leading where there are guys who doesn't even open their mouth to shout. Then why call it cheer, call it mourn instead.

Sports for the girls team are going strong currently but for the guys, things arent going so well. Whatever it is, we must give it a 100% even if we lose at the end, we still gave our best. But if we don't even try to reach out, we'll never ever be there. If we don't contribute to the team then we'll never taste the fruit of success as a team. Miss the days in rural service where we all work as one and achieve as one. The feeling of teamwork where a group of people work hard together towards the same goal and finally achieve it gives a sense of satisfactory which one can't do it by him/herself.

At the end of the day, we all just want to enjoy ourselves so i hope that on the day we will all put up a good show and not waste our afford training for so long. We are far from being a united team but all we can do now is play our individual part and try to get as many gold as possible for the team.

"Warriors remember, only champions wear gold!' ~ part of our cheer leading performance

Adios.. will try to have more updates as this week will be hectic.

Hahaha!!

Wow its been more than a week i have not been updating this blog, sort of ran out of ideas of what to post. It's not easy to maintain a blog and many bloggers out there i believe are like me who are filled with the enthusiasm when starting their blog but tend to end up abandoning it.

For the past week~ PIDC Cup is going to start soon so we're all busy practising our cheer leading for the opening ceremony. The cheer performance this year will be really exciting as all teams are trying new acts and that will add more spice to the event. The Red Demons have been practising their cheer in the hostel compound which we manage to peek and learn a few of their cheer chants. Other teams have also been really hardworking practising everyday.

Besides that i'm taking part in the closing ceremony dance performance in which we're having a Four Seasonal Dance. I'm in spring and all i can say is spring rox!! We have a fusion of fan dance with the modern hip hop, as for other seasons, autumn: waltz, winter: jingle bell rocks, summer: some hot dance supposedly. Anyway, i think at the end of the day the show will turn out great.

Oh and my Bangalore trip last week was AWESOME!! We shopped, ate, shopped, ate and shopped all day long. Although the food we ate taste fine compared to Malaysian food but to be able to eat these food here is heaven. We took an afternoon bus and arrived in the evening, then we check into the hotel which is along Brigade Road, the ideal spot for shopping. Haha.. we later walked down the street to eat in a Korean Restaurant. Food was fine. Carried on shopping in Forum Mall till time was up and we left to the airport.

We took an airport bus shuttle at 10.30pm to pick SOMEONE up. Then we were worried that we would not make it for the last shuttle which is 12am. When we asked if there're other transport after 12, the bus assistant told us we can take the cab but it cost up to Rs1000 each. We almost faint. We started banging ourselves for not planning well. And we came up with plans such as putting up a night in the airport to save the Rs1000 compared to our hotel which is slightly cheaper. After all we managed to make it for the last bus, even if we don't there ARE buses operating after midnight. (Of course got larh, common sense, how can there be no transport available in the airport.. haiyo!!) Then the bus stopped at a place where we have to take an auto (indian motor rickshaw) and we almost got cut throat for the auto cost.

We: We want to go to Palms Residency. How much?
Auto: Rs100 one auto
We: WHAT?! No way!! (for locals the actual cost is Rs15)
Too expensive! Cheaper.. Rs100 for 2 autos
Auto: No.. it's at night.. so we're asking more.
We: You're not asking more, you're asking TOO MUCH!

We continue arguing in midnight at the middle of the road as both refused to give in. Then a police came and help us got it at Rs100 for 2 autos. Yay! Mission accomplished. So happy that we didnt have to over pay although it's still considered expensive but no choice because of our skin colour =(

The next morning we had buffet breakfast at a nearby hotel and continued shopping. All in all i had a wonderful time in Bangalore, and the weather there was cooling and comfortable to shop. I got 2 shirts, a blouse, my PIDC closing ceremony dress and heels, all at really good prices. I can laugh till my jaw ache.. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

A week

Thanks to all of you who left words of encouragement, don't worry, i'm alright here. I just need someone to lend me their ear and listen to me once in a while. I always try to explain but people don't seem to understand, especially those who are not here with me. Thanks again because all i need is your support and understanding to help me to make it through.

Well, recently life is busy here as we're preparing for PIDC Cup. Practising almost everyday, from after class til night. We have to train for sport events, performance, house cheer... Everyday is so occupied and i still feel very energetic eventhough i get leg cramps after that. But besides these fun, there are still some grudges happening behind. Should i say it's.... -> politics... argh, i just hate it but when there's people, there is politics. As long as no one steps on my tail then i won't go stepping on people's tail.

I'm also in this weird situation feeling in dilemma. Thinking of the past, which people whom i treated sincerely does not appear to be what they are but the people whom i misjudged are truthfully great friends. It's so hard sometimes, and i do feel in dilemma. Instinct is what i'm depending on.

***

I was out for house cheer leading practise and we were trying new stunts to increase the intensity of the cheer. It was so unfortunate when CK and I were trying on new stunts, i couldn't balance her so she fell and hit her chin. I felt so bad as it was my fault for bending my leg which cause her to fall. Argh!! ISH!! So angry with myself...!! The other time we played football and i kicked the ball towards CJ and hit her face. Why am i so careless?! I learned from it, safety always comes first while doing dangerous stunts. Should be more cautious next time.

Emolicious to the extend i'm P!$$3D 0FF!

At times I get so pissed off that I just want to throw out the four letter words but it is still not a good word to say so I’ll just shout inside my heart.

Today has been a disastrous day starting from 9am. Our first hour was supposedly Tooth Morpho theory followed by practicals. We waited at the auditorium till 9.20am and someone receive msg telling us to proceed to pracs. As we walked to the elevator, a lecturer came and chase us back to the audi. Nvr mind. We then waited for 10 minutes in audi and an unfamiliar faced lecturer again told us to go to prac, so we as the ‘obedient’ students they want us to be, walked all the way to the elevator AGAIN. When the elevator door opened, our classmates who were waiting upstairs told us they were scolded and chased back to auditorium for theory! FLOWER BRIDGE (translate to Cantonese)!! We walked for twice and get scolded for nothing. If this happened in the western country students would have walk out of the class! It was 9.45am when the theory class started.

Came back to my hostel for lunch, found out something my roommate did which did make me angry but not pissed. But since I chose to forgive, I shall learn to forget. It is an irresponsible act and I hoped she learned from her mistake. Everyone makes mistakes including me and we deserve a second chance. Shall give her the benefit of doubt.

Went for Dental Materials in the afternoon, the lecturer was barking again. If you have read the previous 2 posts about the lecturer scolding us, it’s the same lecturer AGAIN. So this time I wonder if she’s problematic or are we the problematic one. But if we are then why aren’t all the department treating us like that but only ‘THIS’ particular department.. hmmm….

Tomorrow is my Physiology Practicals Internals exam, which was postponed from 12 August to 23 September (how efficient ppl here are). I’m trying to concentrate so I have to release my emotions before I can settle down.

I have to learn to control my temper. Recently life’s been rough and I get agitated so easily. I wish I can be as mature as Isaac or as calm as my mom who tackles troubles with a smile. Forgive me for using rough words but these are what that’s in my mind. And I do feel calmer now.

I admit I complain a lot

Why? Why? Why?
Why do we have so many tests? Endless test? Tests after tests?
Everyone tell me because it's not easy to be a doctor/dentist.. Dentist also human what.. dentist also want to enjoy life, dentist also want to laze around and dream all day.. Just because some people don't have life and do not know how to enjoy the quality of life doesn't mean others have to be the same.. We have many things to do after class ok.. eg cook, laundry, homework, nap etc We do not want our study life to be just studying, if it is so then after 5 years i guess we're all nothing but zombies, then everyone can call us Dr Zombie..

ps: I would dream that lessons can be reduce to 6 hours a day, give us Saturdays off, extend our holiday to 2 months so that we can spend time with our FAMILY at HOME.
pss: I want to thank my family for bearing with me and listening to my complains each time i call.. Yea i have endless complains too..
Random photos

teeth(upper and lower front) that we carved during tooth morphology.. i can carve teeth! anyone wants some teeth as birthday presies?

This is the fridge in my dorm.. haha.. it's hilarious yet meaningful..

Lessons to be learnt

Incident 1
We went for dinner at the restaurant opposite our hostel and we ordered our food from the same waiter as usual. We ordered 3 sweet melon juices. Minutes later, he came in with 3 pineapple juices. This is not the first time and we've tolerated enough of this crap so we questioned him.

Us: What juice is this?
Waiter: Pineapple
Us: We ordered sweet melon juice.
Waiter: No more melon juice. He insisted on serving us the juice.
Us: Take these away we don't want it.
Waiter: Shaking his head, still forcing us to take the juice. No more melon juice.
Us: If you don't have melon juice, tell us you don't have, why serve us pineapple juice? Take it back.
Waiter: Looking bad. He asked us to hold on as he go check out.

He came back later and said there's no more melon juice so we asked him to take the pineapple juice away.

Incident 2
Sometimes when we buy things, we don't have small change so we have no choice but to give Rs100 note (=RM10).

Cashier: Change?
Me: No change.
Cashier: No change?.. shaking his head waiting for the change to drop from heaven while looking at me.
Me: NO CHANGE!!
Cashier: Showing his black face as if it's my fault while searching for the change in the drawer. And he has the change!
Me: (Damn it.. This is money larh! Don't want to earn money is it?!)

Incident 3
Lecturers: We expect you to give us respect, at least basic respect as lecturers bla bla bla
Ironically, have you as lecturers respected us as students? We've been treated like kids, quietly accepting your critcism even if it's ridiculous, even with a sarcacism in the tone, even if you're shouting at us, we've been keeping quiet all these while and we've never argued back. All I want to say is, we also don't expect much, we too want to be treated with respect, at least the basic respect as students. Its just a mutual thing, when people respect you, automatically you will respect them in return. It's that simple.

Emolicious 3

Emotions boiling...
I understand deep inside how you struggled and how much u wished to be free
I understand your circumstances but as a friend I still quietly wished that this is not true
This is the second time a very closely attached friend is leaving me but this time it hit me harder
Everyone is telling you to stay but your heart wants you to go
What can I say but follow your heart..
As a friend, all we could do is to support and help you walk through this together
We've tried and i believe you've even tried harder

But I think this is almost the end of our chapter together in India
I hope that you've chose a life thats easier and happier for you and your family
This is just the beginning of the end and i believe we will meet again someday, sometime, somewhere...

will miss the moments we shared... do remember us always as we will remember you XOXO

Emolicious 2

I have caries!! How can that happen.. I thought my teeth was perfect until last night, when i was chewing my dinner i felt pain in my teeth and gums. And i knew i had to treat it.. By drilling a bigger hole on my infected teeth and seal it with some restorative material.

My day started with self indulging in pricking finger and squeezing for blood during Physiology practicals. We actually prick our finger manually using lancet, a needle like equipment with thick head and thin tail towards the end. To tell the truth i get more and more chicken shit everyweek until i merely touched my finger with the lancet today, touched not pricked.. but when i pricked Dashni's i did it quite hard and the blood was oozing out of her finger, guess it was because i'm not the one feeling painful... haha... evil laugh*

Anatomy was as usual.. sat in the dissection hall with a few corps at the back of the class. Didn't do much as Elvis spoke so soft that only he could hear himself. Have to study by ourselves.

ODS was fine but i fell a sleep half way through the class and drool a little.. haha.. after a satisfying meal, can't help it. But Dr Monica was as nice as usual...

DM was the suckiest of all. The lecturer spend the whole hour scolding us about our discipline and behaviour. She said we should show basic respect to the lecturers such as stand up and wish when the lecturer walks into the class, wish them when we see them outside the class, do not argue with them or question them even if we have our principle because that means we're being rude to the elders bla bla bla... wow, welcome to Stone Age!

The day ended with something fun tho.. like celebrating Hooi Thang's birthday then carrying lantern and walking around the campus.. This also signifies we're ushering the coming Lantern Festival! Yay!! I LOVE MOONCAKES!!!!!!!!!!

Merdeka!!

Happy Independence Day & Happy Weekend!
The atmosphere here is obviously not as merry as back home because:
1. Malaysia's National Day has nothing to do with Indians.
2. We, Malaysians do not get any public holiday.
3. Comparatively we are not as patriotic as Indians.

Besides these reasons, it's because our holidays are coming to an end. Two weeks just flew like that, i was just sending my friends off the other day and now they're back. Everyone's on the jetlack plus mondays blue mood because class is starting tomorrow. It's alright as i guess everyone's excited to meet up with each other again.
Today's not only our national day but it's our friends' birthday! We have Juliana and Cai Shan born on the same day, month and year. And Dashni who's one year younger. As i was quite free during the holidays, i made a card for Dashni.

Thats my new room behind. I went through a lot of hardwork and determination to fight for this room. It's all worthwhile as finally i can call my room a ROOM. A spacious room with big study table, comfortable bed, soft pillows, big washroom, cooling and roomy feeling. I had a good sleep during the first night without any dreams. Arhh... more of these nights to come~

*

{Hate the education system here. Can't they give a longer holiday? Why are they so stingy with holidays? If a developed country can produce better scholars even with a 3 months summer break, i don't see how a 2 months break can affect in anyway.} Reason no. 278 i dislike this place...

Oh Daph Daph

I was hanging out at Daphne's room last night. Suddenly she said 'hey i show you something very nice..' and she hold her leg up and showed me her sole, more precisely... her corn. What kind of friend is this?... Then she started whining away about her corn saying it's growing bigger even after applying salicylic acid and she's worried if it's a wart.

So as a kind and helpful friend, as i always have been *ahem ahem* i went online to search information regarding corns and warts. I search for pictures of wart and found one which looks something like Daphne's... and she was dead worried.

To make a conparison, i searched for corn and we found this

Both of us burst into laughters...

A tooth tale

Introduction:
Script by: Dashni
Editor: Jane

~This story is fictional and has got nothing to do with the living or dead~

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Dentin. She was trapped in the last room of the highest tower of Tooth Land.

In a different part of Tooth Land, there lived a prince named Enamel. Prince Enamel who heard the tale of Princess Dentin, told his dad, the king, that he wants to save and marry Princess Dentin. The king allowed his brave, courageous son to go on this dangerous quest. Before he left, the king entrusted him with the sword of enamel rod. The prince then hopped onto his white beautiful stallion and rode into the horizon.

On his way, he met Pulp. Pulp was in distress, and was weeping his nerves out, literally. Enamel stopped and asked Pulp, 'What is the matter, my dear friend?', Pulp answered, 'My friend, Princess Dentin, is still stuck in the tower.' Enamel then said, 'do not worry, I am on my way to save her. Join me on my quest.' Pulp hopped on to the white, handsome stallion and rode into the horizon together with Prince Enamel.

They pass through many obstacles in their journey like the river of saliva, wall of gums and swamp of bad breath. Finally, they reached the last room of the highest tower.

Prince Enamel heard the princess singing a sad, haunting song filled with sorrow and pain. He used Pulp's nerves and blood vessels to make a rope and he climbed up that rope to the top of the tower. He called Princess Dentin from outside the window. 'Dentin, oh my dear Dentin, I have come to save you!' 'Oh my prince, I am so grateful you are here,' replied Dentin.

But.. there was a suspence, as Enamel has never met Dentin in person. So when Dentin popped her head out of that window, Enamel got the shock of his toothie life. He almost slipped down Pulp's rope when he saw Dentin's face. Dentin was as yellow as a banana and had black pits on her. However, after Enamel recovered from the shock, his noble heart told him to save and love her no matter what her appearance is. He brought her down the tower and took her back to the castle. Before that, they left Pulp back at his pulpy home.

The king was anticipating their return. When they arrived, the king fainted... You may ask why, but i'm sure you know the answer - Dentin. Enamel rushed to his father and ordered some saliva to be sprinkled on him. When the king was conscious again, Enamel asked, 'why father, why did you faint?' The king answered, 'What did you bring back son? I asked you to bring back a princess, not... a caries!' Enamel said, 'she is a princess dear father and I will marry her with black pits or not.' The king who always loved his son, agreed.

The marriage took place at the Oral Cavity Hall. The entire Tooth Land was there, microorganisms and bacteria.. All of them witnessed the lavish ceremony under the golden sun.
After saying their 'I do', Enamel and Dentin UNITE. A few minutes later, there was a bright dazzling light coming from the UNION. Enamel and Dentin became the whitest and shiniest tooth of Tooth Land. The reason is because Dentin's heart was as pure and white as a pearl. So, it shined through Enamel's semi translucent case.

A few years later, Enamel and Dentin were blessed with triplets, namely Incisor, Canine and Molar. Their lives were filled with oral joy and they lived happily ever after!

*THE END*

PS: Always look at a person's heart, do not judge by their looks!

Comments from classmates:

Hooi Thang: God knows when was the last time I had such a toothy laugh...
Shubashini: Perfect story for a dentist to be.
Nishanti: Simply superb!! A real tooth tale!
Daphne: A not bad modified fairy tale.
Isaac: Simple yet catching. Love the meaning behind this tale.

Emolicious 1

Yesterday i fell a sleep while watching Kungfu Panda, without completing the show.. but i woke up later around 5am to turn off my room light to continue sleeping. Then i dreamt of home.. I've never dreamt of home since i came here. In my dream i had vivid memory of my home.. Everything seems to be different already.. I was like a stranger to that place but the people were still familiar to me.. thank god.. I even dreamt that i took KTM like how i used to during college.. but the KTM station seems to be bigger and better refurbished..

When i woke up, i was torsing and turning on my bed. I tried to recall back how my house look like.. Of course i still remember, i've been staying there since i was born. But since the day i came here i sort of shut my memories of Malaysia off my mind, not purposely but it just happened.. From the first day i was here, i felt that it was the first day of my life. Although I never thought about home/the place but i do miss the people back home..

Life here has been like a roller coaster ride, although only 5 months. There were many ups and downs each day. I feel very lucky because whenever i'm down, i have a group of very supportive friends around me. Thanks to them, my life here is all balanced up =D. In the previous post of my old blog, i posted an article which is quoted by my friends as 'scary and very worrying'.. Well, i just want to say that my life here is like that so whenever i'm upset i will type some crap on my blog to pour out my feelings. But don't worry because i'm a person who recovers very fast. Just read and forget about it.. haha..

This morning when i woke up (which is now), my cousin nudge me on msn saying that an uncle have passed on.. Tee deh (4th uncle). It was sudden as he was still healthy before this, and one day after he was admitted to hospital he passed away. I wasnt very close to him but i remembered when i was young maybe 5 or 6 years old, he would teased me by asking me to be his son's girlfriend. He has a loud voice which i thought was scary at that tender age, but he is a very nice person indeed. It would be hard for his family but i hope that they will stay strong through this. As for uncle, may he rest in peace..

Viva La Vida

Viva La Vida means 'live the life' in Spanish..
This word actually came from me and my friend while we were really stressed up preparing for our internals.. (You can't imagine how's the life here during exam period)

During exams or tests, the very common word i hear is 'die larh.. tomorrow's paper sure die'.. Which sounds so negative so Dashni and I had to create something to counter the negativity. Thats how these words came about.. and whenever we hear 'die larh..' we'll say.. VIVA LA VIDA!

We only live once and it's important that we live well and meaningful.. Learning to appreciate our loved ones because it's them who makes our life wonderful, to achieve something in life that we can be proud of and to explore deeper about ourselves and the world around us. Thats how i feel and would like to share with u guys.. so VIVA LA VIDA!

The holiday begins...

Aloha.. vanakam~
My holiday begins with...... the start of a new blog!
As today is my first day of holiday.. i decided to use it wisely, and not wasting any of my time.. i completed my holiday task no 1 which is to start a new blog!
With this post i announced the opening of this blog to viewers of all ages, from all around the globe and from all walks of life.
