What has happened to our society?

On a lovely Sunday morning i woke up at 10.10am which is quite early and sat in front of my laptop happily Facebook-ing. I was looking around for some interesting applications and saw this group titled 'In memory of Junko Furuta: The girl who went through 44 days of torture'. It ruined my Sunday morning.

I went to search for her details as i have not heard about her story and was totally dismayed. My heart sank the moment i read the first article in wikipedia and i just couldn't continue reading, i closed the window.

Why is there such perverted, sick and mentally ill people in this world that can inflict such pain and torture on a person without sense of guilt or sorry? Witnessing her going through the tortures is fun and exciting for them? What is their brain made of, why can they be so sick? It just disgusts me.

Four boys were involved in this sickly crime and they kept her in one of their houses. This were known to the boys' parents and other outsiders who visited the house but NONE of them did anything in their power to save her even if she begged the parents for help. I don't know what's the reason behind it, maybe they were threaten but out of 100 people who knew this, can they not unite and do something about it? GoD!!

It was after her death that the boys were brought to court which couldn't even justify what they had done to her. The worse part is that the case was handled as juvenile crime and they were charged for causing bodily injured leading to death but not murder. And they were released after few years of jail sentenced. Even life imprisonment would not justify their perverted act, what more just a few years of prison. Putting law aside, the boys deserve to be treated what they put the girl through. They should be tortured 44 days in the exact way i reckon.

20 years has passed and what is done is yet to be forgiven or forgotten. I am saddened by what has educated our society into this immoral and perverted act. Some says that they should be burn in hell if justice is not brought in this world. But i think that they should and will receive their punishment one day because i believe this world is in it's state of equilibrium and whatever unfair or uneven will come back to a fair state in one way or the other. Lastly, we should all pray for her to rest in peace and also pray that this world will have less of this sickly people and it will be a better place.
